Pre-debut photo of 2NE1’s Minzy divides netizens on issues of body image

2NE1’s maknae Minzy has found herself to be at the heart of a debate between netizens on what would be considered as the ‘ideal’ body image.

Minzy’s audition footage from 2007 was recently posted on an online portal site, and netizens have been commenting on how skinnier she was back then. However, the 14 year old seen in the video has been labelled by some as ‘Bones Minzy’.

In order to provide a better understanding of the contrast between Minzy then and Minzy now, netizens posted a side-by-side comparison of the two selves. There were some who viewed Minzy’s current image as being ‘overweight’, as they commented, “It was only four years ago…It is surprising that you had a time like this” and “You gain more weight as time goes on TT Please lose some weight…”

However, others asserted that Minzy looked healthy and proportional, as they praised, “You still look very good!” and “It is better to have a little weight rather than being stick skinny!”

2NE1’s Park Bom joins twitter

Clap your hands Blackjacks, as it seems another 2NE1 member has joined the vast world of twitter. A few weeks ago, 2NE1’s youngest member Minzy (@mingkki21) joined twitter and it seems she has recruited fellow member Park Bom to join in on the tweeting ventures.

Minzy tweeted:

“@harooluvstar 이제 봄언니도 트위터한다~^^ㅋㅋ반가워요~ㅎㅎ / @harooluvstar Now, Bom unni is on twitter too~^^ ㅋㅋI’m glad~ huhu”

Park Bom had two random tweets from June 17, 2010 but it seems the account was dormant until now. Just an hour ago she tweeted:

“@Hwangssabu 사부님~~ 저 봄이에요~~~^^ 트위터 시작했어요ㅋㅋㅋ 민지가 가르쳐 주는중입니다~~^^ / @Hwangssabu ssabu neem~~ It’s Bom^^ I just started twitterㅋㅋㅋ Minzy’s teaching me~~^^”

2NE1’s album hits #1 in the Philippines

When 2NE1’s highly-anticipated first album hit shelves back in September of last year, no one predicted that it would achieve the explosive results that it did.

With a staggering amount of pre-orders, over a million YouTube views for each of their triple title-track MVs, and a triple-crown win, the ladies of 2NE1 can add yet another accomplishment to their ever-expanding resume.

According to data compiled by the Philippines’ music retailers, Astrochart/Astrovision, 2NE1’s album “To Anyone“, became a #1 best-seller! Not only that, but their “First Mini-Album Re-package (CD+DVD)” also claimed the #2 spot on the chart.

The girls wanted to personally thank their Filipino Blackjacks for making this achievement possible, so they uploaded a video expressing their thanks in Tagalog.
